New High-Density Power Hub Delivers up to 500 mA Power to a Fieldbus Segment
High-density power hub delivers 500 mA per fieldbus segment
Our FieldConnex fieldbus infrastructure consists of interface products that are designed for fast and easy installation and offer reliable long-time operation of the complete fieldbus infrastructure.
The new 500 mA High-Density Power Hub is a typical example of this product philosophy. The compact size requires only limited space inside the switching cabinet. Especially optimized circuits with low power loss allow the board to be positioned in any direction. Compared to the previous model, the new power supply current was increased from 360 mA to 500 mA per fieldbus segment, which allows considerably more freedom in the selection of field devices and the number of devices connected to one segment.
Explosion protection always included
Selected power modules with the High-density Power Hub provide a choice of safe voltage levels for intrinsic safety Ex ic, Zone 2. The R2 Segment Protector offers safe current limitation allowing for intrinsically safe Ex ic spur connections for field instruments.
The High-Density Power Hub supplies the High-Power Trunk Concept. It provides an efficient energy supply to a large number of field devices inside explosion hazardous areas while allowing maximum cable lengths. At each spur junction, field barriers or segment protectors take care of limiting the maximum current, in order to allow safe operation of field devices in hazardous areas, which can be maintained or exchanged during normal system operation without a hot work permit.
The basic motherboard supports up to 8 power supply modules, which allows the connection of up to 4 FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1 segments. Passive power conditioning ensures maximum reliability. Integrated fieldbus termination allows the setup of a highly available system configuration, while plug-in terminals with retaining screws take care of secure connections that are resistant against vibrations and prevent any unintentional disconnection.
Advanced Diagnostic Module provides continuous monitoring and diagnosis of the fieldbus physical layer.
