Up to eight segments on one motherboard: The Compact Power Hub with redundancy and extremely low heat dissipation. Easy to install. Saves the most space in the cabinet.
The motherboards are easily installed on the DIN-Rail side-by-side with wiring points for bulk-power, host, and segment connection. All connectors are removable with retaining screws for long lasting operation. The motherboard supports two power supply modules per segment for redundant configuration. The power supply modules plug onto the motherboard with locking-tabs that secure them in place and without tools. This helps with quick installation or module exchanges.
The FieldConnex Compact Power Hub is designed for extremely low heat dissipation of 1.6 W or less. This is the result of a robust electronic design utilizing the latest manufacturing technology using extremely small, high-quality components. Heat in the cabinet typically limits the number of segments per cabinet more than the size of the power supplies. Less heat allows more segments per cabinet and fewer cabinets. That same design contributes to a very long service life.
Always passive impedance generation with FieldConnex prevents the fieldbus signal from being short-circuited by the internal resistance of the power supply. Just one per segment ensures that communication continues even during a redundancy transfer. Passive components make the FieldConnex Compact Power Hub very reliable.
Slots allow connection of Advanced Diagnostic Modules (ADM). The ADM enables software-based commissioning, online monitoring, and troubleshooting. Users receive information about the fieldbus physical layer in simple text. Managing the fieldbus infrastructure is easy with Advanced Diagnostics.
