Operating drives and heavy machinery in process production plants requires high power. Caution and high safety standards must be used when switching and distributing currents up to 315 A and voltages of 440 V.

Based on the proven range of Ex d IIB enclosures, manufactured of either aluminium, stainless steel or cast iron, the 4 or 6 pole SD series switch disconnectors can handle currents up to 315 A.
Five unit sizes allow efficient use of installation space, depending on the power to be switched. As a standard, the rotator switch operators have a padlock facility at the OFF position. The SF series for up to 125 A is available with additional ASTA type fuses of 80 kA breaking capacity to ensure enhanced safety.
In order to operate motors in hazardous areas, the direct-online starters of the DOL series can handle up to 75 kW. They feature 3 phase 50/60 Hz contactors with push button operators, and are fitted with standard overload relays according to contactor ratings as well as thermal overload protection.
DOLDS series starters are equipped with an additional rotary switch to enable safe disconnection of the electrical circuit. Flameproof Star Delta Starters are available from 11 kW to 15 kW in the SDS series.
All units are certified for both gas and dust explosive areas, and hold several international certifications such as ATEX, IECEx, and GOST-R. Standard coil voltages are 240 V and 415 V while other coil voltage and overload ranges are available on request. Ambient temperatures range from -40 °C to +50 °C, with an ingress protection of IP66.
For power distribution in hazardous areas, the comprehensive range of Ex d enclosures can be configured with appropriate terminals of various types. The enclosures are available in many sizes, and are made of aluminium, stainless steel and cast iron. For explosion protection types Ex e and Ex ia, a wide range of terminal and junction boxes is available in stainless or mild steel as well as GRP glass-reinforced polyester.
